Re: Cpu upgrades
Hi all,
I have an Acer Travelmate 6252, using an Intel GM965 Chipset and Celeron M 530 CPU with 479mPGA socket. Is there a way I can upgrade it to a Core 2 Duo?
My Celeron is killing me, its so hot and only has a 2 hour battery life!
Pls contact me at "tachyio@gmail.com" or you can add me on facebook at "tachyio met"
Thank you

Re: Cpu upgrades
i'll PM you with a different link about UPGRADING CPUS,, this link is for collecting info about what models have successfully been upgraded,, and what CPUs work with those models...
i'm sure you'll find many people here willing to help,,, but always remember to use the SEARCH feature at the top right corner before asking a question,,, most issues have been addressed before and you can often find your own answers and learn things along the way

Re: Cpu upgrades
temp is wrong mooler,, download RMclock,, u can use it to underclock the CPU saving MORE battery power,,, and generating less heat..
see the CPU UNDERVOLTING GUIDE in the hardware and upgrade thread
my T5450 works STABLE at 0.95v across all multipliers and it's temps are actually correctLast edited by bigozone; 23rd May 2008 at 02:17 AM.

Re: Cpu upgrades
Yeah I get this kind of temps too, I'm 90% sure it's 1.34 fault.

Re: Cpu upgrades
i downgraded my bios back to 1.33 for now....
just waiting for ACER to wake up
everyone need to email ACER about a power issue w/ V 1.34 and the Acaida motherboard... even call and talk to tech.... describe issuses w/ 1.34,,, cold reboot issue,, temp sensors,, (think they know they fixed the sound prob)
but thats when the cold boot issue and the temps sensor started
don't mention upgraded CPUs... they could attempt to void your warranty and give you hastles
