Re: Upgraded Acer 3680 Celeron CPU to a T5300!
The Celeron in your system is a low power Yonah Core CPU. The T5500 is a Merom Core CPU, has a higher FSB (667), and a higher power output. The 940GML can't handle those specs.

Re: Upgraded Acer 3680 Celeron CPU to a T5300!
For anyone curious about undervolting their new Core 2 CPU I supplied some pics of my RM utility settings with idle temps. Using this program: http://cpu.rightmark.org/download/rmclock_235_bin.exe your computer should run a lot cooler and increase battery life by at least 15 minutes.

<--temps/CPU clock 800Mhz
<--management settings
<--Recommended Index and volt setting. Keep computer on "Performance on Demand" for optimal power saving.

Re: Upgraded Acer 3680 Celeron CPU to a T5300!
nope... i have a 5315 and bought a T5300 before i understood that there are basically 2 different 479 pin mobile sockets... the T5300 is a socket M processor while the Arcadia MB in the Aspire 5315 is a Socket P based MB.
the following CPUs should fit the MB and work fine,
T5250, T5450, T7100, T7300... i have a T5450 in the mail now, and as soon as it arrives i'll post results and a few pics in the following threads:
