Acer Aspire 5920 volume control problem
Hi guys,
after installing office 2007 to my computer, the hotkeys died. I was advised to install newer version of launch manager. It solved the problem partially, but the volume control in the front of the computer still does not work. I was reading through this forum, but I could not find any solution. I updated the Synaptics driver, the Realtek driver but those did not solved the problem.
Any idea?

Re: Acer Aspire 5920 volume control problem
Ok I'm pretty sure the volume wheel is controlled by Acer Launch Manager. Are you sure you have the correct version for 5920G? Try going to 5920G driver page and redownload and reinstall launch manager. Good luck.

Re: Acer Aspire 5920 volume control problem
ok i had this problem too, but i solved it.
Now assuming you are using windows XP on the 5920.
You should have the empowering framework for XP installed. it should be version 2.0 or so... version 2.5+ is for vista.
if you don't have it,get it from
here.
Now, run regedit
Hkey_local_machine\Software\Quanta\QtZgAcer\Settings
Find Show All Volume OSD key and change it to 1.
Restart. and Done =)
Took me an hour to find this.
Good luck.

Re: Acer Aspire 5920 volume control problem
Vista is running on my 5920, but I solved the problem tho'
I reinstalled the Synaptics driver and the Launch Manager from the recovery. Then volume controll began to work again. Then I updated Synaptics for the version v9_2_5_Vis32 (it is not from Acer but directly from the Synaptics website) - it is for the touch buttons on the right side to work with winamp. But you know: when you solve a problem, you find another to fight with. If you feel like to help with, please read here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/show...13#post2802613
