Acer Aspire 7520 Bluetooth problem

I'd like to share a solution to a problem which I found is quite common on Acer notebooks: Bluetooth key apparently doesn't work, where notebook specs say that the machine is "Bluetooh enabled". Pressing the button a green, character-mode message appears on the screen: "No bluetooh device"; a check via Control Panel - System applet shows that no Bluetooth drivers are installed.
I bought an Aspire 7520G with MS Vista Home Premium about one month ago and had this problem. When I wrote to Acer customer care center they answered that the Bluetooth key is present because the chassis is shared amongst different configuration, but Bluetooth hardware is installed on a market-basis. Even if I dont' own any Bluetooth devices I found this very irritating, so I tried to figure out a solution.
Try what follows:
- uninstall the Launch Manager software; this is the software that allows to map software-controlled keys on the top or side of the keyboard to different functions (e.g. internet browser and e-mail ); it's available through standard All Programs menu
- burn a copy of the Acer Recovery DVDs with the OEM software image. This can be done by Acer Empowering Technology applet (select "e-recovery management"). With my configuration this needs two blank DVDs
- reboot
- locate on the first recovery DVD the directory: PATCH\ACERSW\LAUNCHM; run setup

At the end of the setup press the Bluetooth key: th led should light on, and Windows should setup the Bluetooth drivers. It seems that Acer on some models purposely disables the power supply to the Bluetooth chip, I cant' figure out why. Maybe the software drivers are not reliable or tested on MS Vista, so they prefer to hide this capability ?

Remark: please note that, as I said before, I haven't been able to test the whole system, so there is no guarantee that on this or other Acer notebooks this workaround is going to work. Though, if Bluetooth was important in your choice of buying a particular model, maybe it's worth trying before returning the pc to Acer with a refund request.

I have same problem. I can't make recovery dvd's. My system is not D2D system and I cant install the eRecovery......
So, can You upload the "launchm", when located on the first recovery dvd?
