Thread: eRecovery problem

eRecovery problem
I got a aspire 5584WXMi notebook but it was infected by some kind of virus n
then i try to reset it to Factory default by using my laptop eRecovery backup CD(not the original CD bcoz Acer didnt provide it to me) but it didn't work it says Restore Failed - reason 0xd000001e n then i try to use my desktop eRecovery backup CD on my laptop.. n it works.. but the thing is.. its doesnt suit my laptop.. =_=" n then i try to restore it again using my laptop eRecovery backup CD again for da second time.. but it still doesnt work.. any Pro technicians here cn help me?

The only thing i can think of is to buy a Windows Vista retail disk and then just install the drivers for that notebook. Also does anyone know how to merge the hidden partition with the main driver? i tried several programs yet none have been able to merge them successful

Lol I figured it out anyway..
just hv to press alt F10 when we see the Acer logo after i boot my laptop.. after dat i just reset it to Factory Default

one last thing have you made the recovery dvd's ?
please read the hand book under "recovery" you may need to do this now.

heya man i have the same problem with the same error message. I got the laptop and wanted xp on it so i wiped the hard drive and installed xp but had to go back with vista so i got the recovery cds from them and when i tried to recover it i got the error message. i tried to do what you did (press alt f10 ) but all i got was a really loud noise then nothing any ideas or help thanks ikeago

be sure once you restore back to oringal to burn you self set recovery dvd just in case :>
