Re: Recommend me a gaming mouse?
Why isn't somebody recommending a Steelseries Gaming Mouse? I had a Xai and it's really a great mouse! The Sensei is even better.Personally I don't think there is a better mouse out there than the Sensei. If you want something cheaper or smaller there is also the Kana or Kinzu.
All of these have a superb accuracy, customizable dpi and other settings , switching between profiles on 1 button and i think they are also quite comfortable.
I would recommend them even if your were not playing just mainly FPS...

Re: Recommend me a gaming mouse?
lolwut.
The cursor does not move by itself. What it does is called Z-axis tracking, which basically means the cursor will move slightly when you lift the mouse vertically off of the mouse pad. While some people will tell you that this makes a mouse 100% unusable, the truth is that this motion is about a quarter to half an inch of cursor motion on my 23-inch display (or about a centimeter on a 58-centimeter display for those of you not familiar with our archaic Imperial system
). And frankly, if you have your mouse sensitivity and DPI set properly and have sufficient mousing room, you shouldn't really be picking your mouse and setting it back down a whole lot.
As for playing better on a touchpad...lol. If you really believe that, let's play some Quake Live 1v1. You use your touchpad configured however you like with any number of weapons of your choice, and I'll use my Mamba and nothing but the Gauntlet.

Re: Recommend me a gaming mouse?
I can confirm this happens with the Mamba. I used it for three days and this is one of the reasons why I returned it. That and the fact it required a base station for it's wireless connection. Sorry but if I purchase a wireless mouse, I want it to be as portable as possible. Another piece of hardware to hook up and carry around is not the optimal way to implement a wireless mouse.

Re: Recommend me a gaming mouse?
Sorry if this is hijacking the thread but it's relevant.
Similar to the OP i am also looking for another mouse to buy primarily used for Photoshop and gaming. I mostly play FPS such as Modern Warfare 3 and Team Fortress 2. I currently have the MX518 and it has been amazing these years but I'm getting pretty fed up of the wires, it makes my desk look messy and I'm pretty obsessive with things being neat.
I am currently looking at the Logitech Performance mouse. From what i read it has an amazing battery and it seems like it has similar form factor to the MX518.
My two must haves for a mouse is it has to have similar size and weight of the MX518. I just love how big it is and it has some slight heft which feels good in the hand.
My friend recently got the Logitech G300 and i didn't like how small and light it felt.

Re: Recommend me a gaming mouse?
My last mouse was the MX Performance and it is an amazing mouse. It is probably the best all around mouse I've ever used. It can track on nearly any surface, it feels great and the battery lasts a while. That being said, I currently own the G700 and I think it is a better gaming mouse but only because of the extra buttons it has for adding Macro's. If I didn't need the extra buttons for gaming, I would still be using my MX Performance. I would easily buy that mouse again in a heart beat.
If you want probably the best all around mouse then the MX Performance is right up your alley. By the way, I was a avid CS player and the MX Performance performed flawless and I never ever noticed any lag with it. Not to mention, Logitech's wireless receivers are designed better than any other USB receiver. They are small enough that they can stay attached even durign transport. They cannot snap off like the larger ones that hang out too far.

Re: Recommend me a gaming mouse?
Mostly my objections to wireless are - I will lose the transmitter. No doubt about it. Also I don't want to deal with batteries/charging, and given that it takes up a USB slot anyway I might as well have a cable.
