Just so you and everyone else knows, volts x amps = watts.

Re: How many watts does your laptop draw?
I think the numbers you read on adaptors and batteries do not tell you how many Watts your laptop actually draws. Though, the voltages probably correspond to the actual, while the Watts or Amperes most likely tell you the maximum allowed by specifications.

Re: How many watts does your laptop draw?
The battery is indeed different, the AC adaptor has to provide enough power to charge the battery and run the laptop at the same time. And im well aware of amps x volts = watts, hence why i asked how many amps and volts and not watts because thats self explanatory. An I know that ivar but if your building say a battery pack or a solar pack for safeties sake its best to provide the same number of watts as the laptop battery.

I cannot access my battery now. Was there any applet that can do that, hopefully without needing an install.

Using NHC, it tells me that my battery draws around 22-26 W. Voltage: 11.155V

Re: How many watts does your laptop draw?
My typical power draw under light usage is 11W-14W. The battery capacity itself is about 52W by design, but its max capacity after 126 cycles is 48.52W. I believe that the adapter does 72W.
