*Enermax Aeolus CP001 Cooler Review + Pics*
The Enermax Aeolus CP001 is the first notebook cooler to have a 25cm (250mm) fan. Its designed to cool the notebook components and chassis down up to 22 Degrees. But does it really cool down the components that much? Read the rest of the review to find out! It also has 5 Blue LED Lights that illuminate the fan and sides, made out of high quality metal, and ergonomically angled with full size wrist-rest to reduce neck and wrist strain.

Construction / Design / Build
Unlike many notebook coolers, made of plastic, the Aeolus is made out of Aluminum and brushed steel mesh. Basically... It is made of Metal. This makes the build quality excellent. There is not one bit of flex in the chassis. Even when alot of force is used. It doesnt budge when even a 17" notebook is placed on it. It has "diamond-cut edges" which make it look nice, and a thin, but with durable/non flexing grate.

Actual Photos

The Aeolus CP001 is designed with a full wrist rest. This is pretty nice and comfortable to use while typing. Even though its not gel or soft, the smooth surface makes typing a little more enjoyable and comfortable. The unit can be used on a table, desk, counter, etc. but is also usefull on your lap. It has 4 long rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from scratching any surface and also makes it more comfortable on your lap with the slight cushion they provide. One downside though compared to some other coolers, is that there is no "bottom"... The fan is exposed to the bottom (to be able to take in air and blow it up on the computer), while most suck the heat down and out. This means though, that it cannon be placed on a soft surface (i.e: on a Bed) and get the required amout of air. Which wouldnt cool the notebook and long term, and could burn out the fan itself. To get around this, you could place a piece of cardboard or foam Coreboard, a book, etc. Any semi-hard or hard material. Ill show you what i mean by the fan, check the next picture...
The bottom of the cooler. (Lifted Up)

The cooler also features 5 Blue LED Lights. As you can see in some of the pictures above. Now, what you are probably thinking is, how will you see the lights if the laptop is over top of it? Right? Well, its partly true. You dont see the lights in the top area where the notebook is sitting, but it does shine out on the sides of the cooler. The LEDs are bright, but they do dim a little when you put turn the fan on. The Cooler includes an on/off switch for the lights. Here are some pictures of the cooler with lights on. Also, there will be a few pics of a HP dv9700t on it and how you can see the light from the sides.

Laptop Compatibility / Position
With other coolers, you have to make sure you get one that matches up with your notebook's vents/fans. With the Aeolus, you dont. Which is a big advantage. It will work with almost any computer and any fan/vent positioning because the single huge fan covers all the area of the notebook's underside.
It will fit laptop that is up to 18", As you will notice in following pictures, with laptops over 15", the side and back will hang off slightly. Depending on how bulky the notebook is, there can be more or less area hanging off. This isnt a problem though, as you may think. With my dv9700t, it only hangs off slightly. it isnt anywhere near falling or tipping. Its only about a 1/2 inch off the back and 1/4 inch off sides. So not a big deal. But I dont know about a 20" Laptop like the HDX9000 fitting securely on it.

Withit 8 Minutes: 7 degrees down on the chipset. CPUs were 4 degrees cooler. GPU was 13 degrees cooler. Harddrives were 3-4 degrees cooler.
Product Summary
All in all, the Aeolus cooled the computer down 58 degrees. It cooled the CPU and Chipset by 22 degrees, which is exactly what Enermax claimed the Aeolus would. The Cooler works best under normal usage. But while gaming, keep the temps at a cool and comfortable amount. The Aeolus is a revolutionary cooler. it works very well. I recommend it to anyone who needs a cooler.
NOTE: People with laptops with fans on the BOTTOM that blow OUT, please do not buy this cooler. Check first. Since the Aeolus blows up, it will then fight with the laptops fans, and they will cancel each other out. Although this is not the case with most notebooks.
Pricing
The Enermax Aeolus is available for $32.82 USD: Silver or Black

Cons
*No "Bottom" (Fan is open to bottom)
*Somewhat heavy (1.3kgs/2.86lbs)

Other Thoughts
While using the cooler, if for a long period of time, you must make sure that you turn the fan on. If not, the heat from the notebook will actually heat up the metal cooler and cause the computer to become hotter after a long period of time. While fan is on, it works the opposite way, by making the metal cool down, which cools the notebook more... The cooler is fully able to be disassembled.
To add: The Cooler Blows Air Up on the notebook.
There are also Desktop Cases available with the same fan built into them, HERE.
As well as cases with two of them. HERE.

___________________________________________________________________Wow, very impressed so far. Although you would be fooled by the air movement from the fan. I turned it on and went "uh, is it on?" It is very quiet and fits the DV5 perfectly.
Without the cooler (with the back of the notebook raised up about an inch), my GPU would stay at 70-71C when playing GTAIV. After playing for a good half hour, my max GPU temp was only 63C! I was impressed.

___________________________________________________________________I have them both (Cooler Master Notepal Infinite and Aeolus CP001) for my dv6z, which is basically built the same as the dv6t. Both work pretty well but the Aeolus cools it slightly better and is much quieter.

****... Should've gotten this. The NC2000 is basically useless. A huge waste of money that was.
Good review. Might help to put the data in a chart to help people read it.

Re: *Enermax Aeolus CP001 Cooler Review + Pics*
Are the wrist rests detachable? Or are they suck in there?
I'm in need of a high performance notebook cooler right now, and the NC2000 currently tops my list. This cooler is much cheaper, and has a massive fan, but the NC2000 is recommended by so many people; I just want to know if there are any comparisons between the two, it would help with my purchase.

Re: *Enermax Aeolus CP001 Cooler Review + Pics*
Recently I bought a NZXT Cryo LX Cooler for XPS M1730, and something tells me that it would drop temps even lower with Aeolus. If someone will decide to buy and try it under M1730 (X9000/8800) let me know!
Would be real pleasure to see a comparison between Cryo LX and Aeolus.
But I have another feeling of a big fan being needless for M1730, when only most upper part really needs cooling.
However, good review mate!

Re: *Enermax Aeolus CP001 Cooler Review + Pics*
I dont think the wrist rest is detachable...
Thats because they dont know the magic of the Aeolus.NC2000 is recommended by so many people
Im not sure, it didnt seem to catch on that good. There arent many (if any) reviews on NBR and very little on the web, i dont know why... but thats why i made one. Hopefully to make the Aeolus more popular because of its cooling ability. I dont own any other cooler exept for a crappy $5 one, so i cant do any comparasons, sorry
Maybe because it was alot of money at first too ($85) , so people forgot about it and didnt buy... Not sure
