Re: *Enermax Aeolus CP001 Cooler Review + Pics*
By the reviews of the Zalman ive read, it doesnt cool the CPU by 22 degrees like this one does... And the GPU cooling is approx the same, but the Aeolus was a little higher. Build Quality is better too.
Just stating info i found, please correct me if you have found other information.
@Catbuster, I understand what you mean. It doenst really bother me though. A 15" fits perfectly.
If anyone wants me to, i can post a couple pics with a 15" NB on it... Tell me if anyone does.

Re: *Enermax Aeolus CP001 Cooler Review + Pics*
Could you also put up some pics of the vent positions on the dv9000 ? Im looking for a cooler for my m15x which has the cpu and gpu in the upper left and right corners respectively. I would imagine that a cooler with smaller fans but directly under those areas would be more effective since the cooling capacity of the enermax would be the lowest at those points. I am not TOO concerned about HDD, RAM, Chipset and palmrest temps as these are decent even without a cooler.
Still the 22 degrees Centigrade reduction in temps by the Enermax is quite impressive.

That is only a sensor on a specific part of the motherbaod. Look at the other temps such as cpu etc. Take a look at the NZXT Cryo LX for the M15X its got all its fans in the area you are looking for.Still the 22 degrees Centigrade reduction in temps by the Enermax is quite impressive.NotebookReview.com | Super Moderator

X2P you never commented on the CoolerMaster vs this.
Mortis - the vent positions should be the same as the dv6700, which I posted a picture of.

Re: *Enermax Aeolus CP001 Cooler Review + Pics*
It cooled all of the components. Cooled CPU and Chipset by 22 degrees, GPU by 13 degrees and the HDD by 5.
Those are all of the components... Plus it decreases the outside temp to almost nothing.
Overall Cooling was 58 degrees. Which is more impressive than most coolers. Including the Zalman.
I would like to see a review of the Cyro LX with temp stats. I read 5+ reviews of it, and none say anything about the actual cooling ability. It looks very good. It would be a good competitor to the Aeolus. If I had the money to spend, i would buy it... But i dont.
Ill be getting those pics in a few minutes.

Re: *Enermax Aeolus CP001 Cooler Review + Pics*
Although I'm sure the cooler does a decent job, I think some of the decreases in temps might be exaggerated, due to only have a sample size of 1. For example, my laptop temps during normal web browsing fluctuates a lot depending on background processes, when the fan last came on, etc. An example of this, in your first pic, your cpu temps are at 57 degrees, which is pretty high just for web browsing. In fact you can see the min temp next to it is 44 which is more reasonable temp for general web browsing. In fact, your CPU temp is lower in your second gaming test (at 50 degrees) which is odd because gaming should cause a higher cpu temp than just web browsing. The problem lies in that its possible that the dramatic drop you saw in test 1 was not completely due to your cooler, but rather to other external forces (fan kicking on, less cpu use, etc).
Plus, in your web browsing test, your hard drive temp was at 52 degrees, which indicates a lot of disk activity was occurring (that is extremely high for such light usage, maybe antivirus scan was going).
I'm not saying your cooler doesn't work, but a little more extensive tests may give a better idea on the real cooling potential of the pad. Doing several "n"'s for the experiment allows for you to see if the drop was really due to the cooler or if the drop was observed because your starting point was rediculously high in the first place and would go down anyway without the pad.Last edited by mullenbooger; 1st November 2008 at 03:14 PM.
