I just bought the NZXT Cryo LX Aluminum. Up to 19".

    The Specs:

    • Built with thick aluminum with sturdy construction
    • Rubber finish lifts the notebook up to allow less heat pockets and better airflow
    • Cools your notebook with three adjustable large 120mm fans
    • Four USB ports for your media, storage, and input devices
    • Support for power notebooks with 15", 17" and 19" wide screens
    • Brushed Aluminum finish Dimensions (W x D): 16.6" x 11.6"
    • Folding design for easy storage and transportation

Seems to be made well. I haven't received my new Alienware rig yet so if anyone has bought one a short review would be helpful. Thanks.

Awesome thread and some great cooler reviews. Before reading I wasn't really too sure on which cooler I am going to buy for my notebook, but I am now convinced that the notepal U2 is definitely the way to go. Right now it's only $21 on Amazon, that's pretty cheap when compared to some of the other ones.

    @Mitchrapp: That looks cool man!

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to this forum, so please be nice. :haha:

I'm going to be either buying a MBP 13' or a MSI X460DX 14' laptop for uni, and I'll most likely treat the X460DX/MBP as a desktop when at home, hence I'm in the market for a cooler.

Here's the bottom of the 460DX

Ideally, I'd like to spend $50 tops on a cooler, but should I need to put more money in, I won't mind spendning up to $100 shipped (Australia).

I'd also like something which is usb powered, and has a couple of USB ports.

    Cheers!

Not only does it look cool, it feels like my laptop will be cool even with fans off. Aluminum is the way to go, IMO.

    Does it cool well?

    Thanks man!

I'm thinking of getting a new laptop for uni and maybe a bit of a desktop replacement. Which will mean I should probably buy a nice cooler for it haha.

That I don't know. My Alienware is about a week away from delivery. I know some say a cooler helps little why others say it helps greatly so you'll get all kinds of opinions.

Im actually using the NZXT on my m18x right now..It is a real nice cooler and works well. It fits the m18x real nice too. I just ordered a cooler master sf-19 to see how that is too and see which cools better. But the NZXT is a real nice one.

What would be recommended for the bottom of this guy. Dimensions are: 14.72" x 9.84"
I'm looking for something for my desk and not so much to place on my lap.

I'm planning to buy a CoolerMaster NotePal U3 on Friday at MSY for $32 AUD, I will post some results up on the day of temps to see how much of a change it made.
The notebook I have is a HP DV7 6111TX so it should fit perfectly on it

Well, I didn't end up getting the U3 since they weren't in stock, so I got an Ergostand for $2 extra, I will say that it does cool superbly too!
