Update: I have received information that the NC3000, 2500 will hit stores "mid april", i my area that is. If the dimensions fit, do you think it will be worth waiting?

No clue about the specifications, techpowerup failed to take a good picture of them.

Love my NC 2000, but I admit I'm tempted by the NC 2500 Plus... well, if it ever came out, that is.

Planning on grabbing either the NC2500 plus, or NC3000 maybe even both

Anyone hear anything about the Evercool FIT? It looks interesting because of its small size and therefore portability, but I'm unsure of how effective it is (relies on "negative pressure")

Can you tell in your opinion which cooler would be the most appropriate for the MSI-GX640?

    From Misc
    MSI GX640-098US
    i5-430M / ATI Radeon HD 5850 1GB DDR5 / 4 GB DDR3 / 500 HDD 7200rpm / Intel 5100 / Blu-ray Burner / Win7 Premium

I'm looking at this NZXT Cryo myself. It's a relief to finally find a cooling pad that can fit a laptop over 18". There don't seem to be many out there.

Does the Cryo blow air into the laptop's intake fans on the bottom, or is it one of the usual ones that sucks the heat away from the bottom, which would defeat the purpose with a laptop such as mine?

    Thanks.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. As far as I know, the "usual ones" blow air upwards.

Pardon the large size of the pic.

Sorry, the bottom panel is sort of upside down in this pic. So the main GPU/CPU panel opening (where fan blows) is at the bottom left corner (to the far left of the labels). That is also the rear of laptop (closer to the screen). So I figured the NZXT Cryo would be more effective, since its vents are focused at the rear, right? The Zalman nc 2000 seems to focus more in front. Despite there being one wide T-shaped vent in the front of the bottom panel of the XPS (see image), it's not as important as the GPU vent I talked about earlier, right? Please suggest which would be better between those two coolers.

Also if the Cryo LX is better, does anyone know where (trusted online retailer) I can pick up one of them? Amazon and Newegg are both out of stock of the things and I'd like to get it sooner than later.

Anybody have thoughts on the zalman nc2/3000 vs. cryo lx for a desktop replacement?

I have a hp dv7t with intel i7 720m and nvidia gt 320m, both of which are running hot.

It seems as though the heat sink/assembly and fan are located all at one corner (upper right in this photo)

I'm looking to reduce cpu/gpu by about 4-6 C. I would greatly appreciate the help.

hi there, quick remark, this being the evil internets and all.

it might not be the wisest thing to share your vista ultimate Serial number & Dell Service tag with the rest of the world..
that kind of thing can cost you your warranty & windows license..

LOL, thanks for the heads up....but that's not mine. Trust me I'd never be so careless . I just googled up the image and posted it up here. The image is from an Anandtech disassembly (link here), so I thought I'd use it instead of having to take my own pics. Hope I'm not breaking any rules by doing that. If so please do tell.

Can anyone help me with my inquiries posted up in my previous post up above ^^^^? [Cryo LX vs Zalman NC2000 for this system (noise/price not an issue, only cooling effectiveness during gaming) AND where to find Cryo LX if recommended (amazon/newegg out of stock)?] Thanks.
