INFO: How to disable VPRO

It may be desirable to disable VPRO because:

1. You want to free some resources

2. You see a "ME Initialization..." halting message during BIOS boot but don't have a DHCP server available to implement this fix.

The way to disable VPRO is:

1. Create a USB DOS bootdisk and install the HP DMIFIT utilities on it.

2. Shutdow system. Ensure your DMIFIT USB stick is in the USB drive.

3. Press and hold WIN+Left_arrow+Right_arrow while simulatenously pressing the power button of the 2530P. This unlocks the AMT descriptor. Now hit F9 and select the USB stick for boot.

4. Now type:
Code:
cpqamt write unlock
cpqamt write off
5. Reboot the system and will no longer has AMT issues since it's turned off.
