Slide and hold. I hated the volume control on my 6930p until I figured that out.

I bet you were thinking that a T400/T400s would have a simpler volume control, more consistent panel fit and a better keyboard (with the T60 keyboard option). It will definitely be quieter.

Its not too late to return your HP!
