go here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\VAIO Event Service\


and rename "pi.wav" to something else. "pi-old.wav" will do.

it will no longer beep.

if on 32-bit windows, just go to "C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Event Service" and do the same thing.
