I don't understand the crazy policies from ASUS.
I assembled an A2H (A2500H) notebook, added a P4 2.4 processor, 1Gb memrory and a 60Gb Hd. Buwasn't easy, I had to search (found on this forum) for a manual that explains how to open the damn thing, because Asus doesn't place any assembly documentation on these machines.
I contacted ASUS, because I have a contract to sell 20 of this machines to a customes, but using P4 2.8, It toke thm just a couple days to answer my request, but only to say "Sorry, it's a internal service guide, we can not provide it to end user, sorry."
That's not very wise. Hoc can they want to sell products to be assembled by the re-sellers, if they doesn't provide enough information?
I'm glad I tested this model befor buying the 20 units. In just 1 week of constant use, the paint on the keyboard cover has lost part of the silver paint (on a black molded plastic, another dumb design item), it's real hard to open the case to re-paint the plastic frame, specially if there is no info about it. So again, I'm hapy of testinf this piece of junk. Now at least know what NOT to buy.
I could say the notebook is just an average, not good, but also not bad. The suport is what stinks. They should made available to integrators the full manual, and not only chapter 4, as Synnex does.
I understand why nobody wants to represent Asus in this country. I can imagine they must be real hard maintain a healthy relationship with their partners.
